Mingjun Bai, founder of TAIC

Mingjun Bai is the founder of TAIC and the author of the TAIC titanium drinkware guides. An aerospace engineer by training, he has spent three decades working with high-performance metals and vacuum-insulation technology.

From vacuum flasks to pure titanium

Mingjun began in insulated drinkware in 1994, building a vacuum-flask business under what became the Noble Group. Convinced that titanium’s biocompatibility and taste-neutrality made it the ideal material for drinking vessels, he spent years studying titanium fabrication in Japan and the United Kingdom. In 2016 he launched the first TAIC pure-titanium flask and founded the TAIC brand.

Expertise

  • Aerospace engineering background; three decades in vacuum-insulation and metal drinkware.
  • Pioneer of TAIC’s Ti-Anox structural-colour process — colour grown into the titanium oxide layer, with no paint, dye or coating.
  • Leads a titanium specialist manufacturer whose work has earned an iF Design Award and SGS-verified 99.8% pure-titanium testing.

Why he writes these guides

Mingjun writes the TAIC guides to give drinkware buyers accurate, first-hand information about titanium — how it performs, how to tell genuine pure titanium from coated imitations, and how to care for it — drawn from making it every day rather than marketing it.
